Meet The Surrey Instructors

Master Andy Whiteley 7th Dan - Thames Valley TKD


Andy Whiteley

Master Whiteley is the ITF Local Area Senior Instructor. He has been coach, captain, and a leading competitor of the ITF England squad for over 15 years and has Silver and Bronze Medals in the ITF World Championships. He is the top TKD instructor, coach, and competitor in the UK.

  • 25 years of TaeKwon-Do training winning more medals than we have space to mention, mostly Gold
  • ITF World Silver and Bronze medal holder in veterans sparring and patterns
  • Combat Hall of Fame Awards Winner 2001
  • Presentations to HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh Golden Jubilee 2002
  • Presentation to HRH Princess Anne for official opening of Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre (home of England national training)
  • 15 years of coaching the ITF England Squad
  • Instructor of 5 schools in Thames Valley
  • Instructed nearly 50 students up to Black Belt

Richard Hamilton 5th Dan International Instructor - Surrey TKD


Richard won the ITF Veterans World Power Championships, and won bronze in sparring. He has also won the European Patterns Championships has numerous Gold and Silver medals. He has been teaching for 20 years, produced numerous members of the England Squad, and other high quality black belt instructors.

Ed Milton - 2nd Dan National Instructor - Surrey TKD


Mr Milton is an experienced ITF and UKTA national instructor, and oversees Saturday classes at the University Sports Centre in Guildford.

Mr Milton has been teaching Taekwon-Do for many years now and has helped with the pioneering of Taekwon-Do in Surrey including opening of new schools, recruiting new members, as well as, teaching the classes himself.



Mike Richmond - 1st Dan National Instructor


Mr Richmond has been training with Surrey Taekwon-Do for nearly 10 years now and is one of our most experienced and capable instructors.

In addition to being black belt instructor Mr Richmond also has many years of helping dealing with the juniors including addressing bullying at school and other issues, as he is also father to black belt junior William Richmond and Blue Belt Junior Emma Richmond.

Kate Woodward - 1st Dan Black Belt


Miss Woodward is the Chief Instructor at Chinthurst School in Surrey and also teaches at Dorking.

Here she is pictured demonstrating self defence at a recent seminar against a far larger and stronger opponent.


Justin Rickard - 1st Dan National Instructor


Here is Justin performing flying side kick at Surrey Taekwon-Do's summer day training outside in Guildford. Mr Nick Newberry is defending with a high double forearm block.

Justin originally trained in the GTUK with Master Oldham but changed to the UKTA and ITF under Chang Un when he moved to Guildford for work.
